This policy explains what information this website collects, why, and what happens to it. It is written to be read, not to cover every possibility. If something here is unclear, ask.
What is collected
- Contact form. When you send a message, the name, email address, topic and message you enter are stored so that I can reply. A one-way, monthly-rotating hash of your IP address is stored to help detect abuse; the address itself is not kept.
- Server logs. The hosting provider keeps standard web-server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested, time) for security and troubleshooting, and deletes them on its own schedule.
- Analytics. This site does not currently run analytics or advertising trackers. If that changes, this page will say which tool, what it records, and how to opt out.
Cookies
The public site does not set cookies for visitors. The contact form uses a short-lived session token to protect against forged submissions, and the editing area used to maintain the site sets a login cookie for the site owner only.
How the information is used
To reply to you, to provide services you've asked about, and to keep the site secure. Contact details are not sold, rented or added to a mailing list without asking you first.
Where it is kept
On the web host that runs this site, in the United States, and in the email account used to reply. Submissions are deleted when they are no longer needed for the conversation or the work that came from it.
Your choices
You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or simply email instead of using the form. Use the contact details on the Contact page.
